Michigan vs Iowa

Michigan vs Iowa: College Football Big 10 Preview

It’s Michigan vs Iowa: Michigan is punishing opponents on their way to their showdown with Ohio State and a potential College Football Playoff selection. The next team standing in their way is an Iowa squad that is fighting to get to bowl eligibility.

Prediction: Michigan 49, Iowa 14

Michigan vs. Iowa takes center stage on Saturday night in a less-than-stellar week for marquee match ups in college football in week 12. The Wolverines come in red-hot at 9-0 as a favorite to make the College Football Playoff at the end of the season and the Hawkeyes come in at 5-4 simply hoping to make a bowl.

There is an outside chance that the 2015 Big Ten West champion hawkeyes can make a game out of Michigan vs. Iowa, but we think the Wolverines will keep rolling, go into Kinnick Stadium, and come away with a lopsided win. Jim Harbaugh’s squad has an offense that is on fire and has scored less than 40 points just twice this season and a defense that has given up 20 or more just twice. They face off against an Iowa offense that is really struggling, having scored more than 14 points just twice since the start of October.

Expect that combination of Michigan’s high-octane offense and dominating defense to push the Wolverines out in front early at Iowa and to help them pull away for a big win in Michigan football vs. Iowa that keeps them on-track for a College Football Playoff berth.
