The Ravens vs. Bengals meet up Sunday for a key AFC North matchup between two teams fighting to keep the Steelers from getting back on top of the division. Neither team is living up to the fairly lofty preseason expectations the media tossed their way and both are led by quarterbacks having at least slightly disappointing seasons.
Ravens vs. Bengals Score Prediction: Baltimore 20, Cincinnati 17
2016 hasn’t gone according to plan for Joe Flacco and the Ravens, or Andy Dalton and the Bengals. The two teams are right in the thick of the race for the AFC North, have combined for just eight wins this season and are at risk of slipping down in the division now that the Steelers have a healthy Ben Roethlisberger back under center.
Both teams have really struggled to put points on the board this season as both teams have averaged exactly 19.9 points per-game this season. Many fingers have pointed to the middling performances of Joe Flacco and Andy Dalton as key factors in the offensive, and overall struggles of both teams as the two franchise quarterbacks have combined to throw just 21 touchdowns thus far this season while also combining to throw 15 interceptions.
The difference in Sunday’s game between the Ravens vs. Bengals could come down to which quarterback finds their groove and is able to put up yardage and points efficiently against a strong defense. That won’t be easy for Flacco or Dalton though, as the pass defenses of both teams are allowing less than 250 yards per-game and are among the NFL’s best at picking off passers.
