For the first time since 2002, the Raiders are heading to the postseason vs. the Houston Texans. The Raiders missed their first division championship in over a decade with a loss to the Broncos and a Chiefs win. However, they managed to clinch a spot in the playoffs with a No. 5 seed and will face the Houston Texans this Saturday. The Texans are on a solid run winning their last 3 of 4 games, and have a pretty good chance of beating the Carr-less Raiders. However with another NFL roster change for the Texans, Osweiler will take back his starting QB position after Tom Savage suffered a concussion. Even so, we think the Texans will sneak away with the victory over the Raiders. Our NFL score prediction for the game is 20-15 in favor of Houston.

Raiders vs. Texans Score Prediction: Raiders 15, Texans 20

In the latest playoff news, the Houston Texans will face the Oakland Raiders in the AFC Wildcard game Saturday afternoon from NRG Stadium in Houston. The Raiders had a great season, finishing with a 12-4 record, and the Texans won three out of their last four games to win the AFC South division with a 9-7 record. Oakland pulled out a 27-20 home win over Houston in week 11.

The Oakland Raiders head into the Wild Card game facing adversity after the devastating season-ending injury to Derek Carr in week 16. The Raiders will no doubt need several players to step in in Carr’s absence on both sides of the ball. To add to the blow, Carr’s replacement Matt McGloin was injured himself last Sunday and is questionable for this contest. The Raiders will be needing a huge game from running back Latavius Murray, and might be counting on Rookie QB Connor Cook if they want a chance to win this game. Murray had a solid season, rushing for 788 yards and 12 touchdowns.

The Houston Texans come into the Wild Card game feeling they have a great shot at winning this game against a Raiders team playing without Derek Carr. The Raiders beat the Texans back in week 11 in Mexico City, but it was Derek Carr that threw for 295 yards and three touchdowns that torched the Texans. However in breaking NFL news, Brock Osweiler is back as QB this game as Tom Savage is out with a concussion. Fans aren’t too excited after the below average season Osweiler had this year after signing the big contract.

The Texans defense will be the key to winning this game. If the Texans defense plays at the level it can then they should have a very good chance at winning this game with no Carr playing for the Raiders. The Raiders are a weakened team with the injury to MVP candidate Derek Carr and we can’t see them winning this game. Especially since the Texans own the number two ranked pass defense in the NFL.
