NFL Week 11 Recap

As clear-cut division leaders emerged after week 11 wins (Eagles, Steelers, Patriots, Vikings), we witnessed some exciting matchups involving teams fighting for a playoff spot. Some teams, however, slipped further and further away from post-season relevance.

What are the Bills doing at QB?

Poor Nathan Peterman. The 5th round pick from Pittsburgh is not ready for primetime and was thrown onto a field opposite Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram in his first start. After throwing five interceptions in the first half, Tyrod Taylor took over for the rest of the game. Taylor is still arguably the better QB and him on the field only helps LeSean McCoy’s numbers.

The Saints comeback win extends their eight-game winning streak.

If you haven’t realized it, the Saints are for real! Though they’ve had some impressive wins during their current eight-game win streak, their 15-point fourth-quarter comeback over Washington is what you want to see from a Superbowl hopeful. Add in the fact that they roster not one but TWO top 10 (top 5 in my opinion) RBs in Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram; they are a team to watch. The Saints lead the league in RB yards per carry (5.27).

The Eagles are the total package.

Riddled with injuries all season, they live “next-man-up” mantra. Need an example beyond four turnovers? Star kicker Jake Elliot left the game with a concussion. No kicker? No problem. Instead, stud QB, Carson Wentz attempted multiple 2-point conversions all night. This team is fearless. Don’t worry about Ertz, who fumbled at the goal-line in the 4th quarter. He’ll bounce back in a matchup against Seattle who already struggled to defend the TE position even before losing S Cam Chancellor and CB Richard Sherman for the season in week 10.

Vikings receiver Adam Thielen continues to be the MVP of this team.

Thielen had six catches for 123 yards and a score in the Vikings’ win over the Rams. He is matchup proof at this point. Case Keenum looked good in his attempt to keep his job from going to Teddy Bridgewater. It’s still uncertain if he will come back to earth soon. With Thielen around it may not happen.
